Elizabeth Butler MD, FACS

Medical Doctor Specializing in Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery

Dr. Elizabeth Butler is a cardiothoracic surgeon who specializes in the care of surgical diseases of the chest including the heart and lungs. She has a special interest in complex coronary artery surgery, mitral valve repair, tricuspid valve repair as well as aortic valve disease focusing on valve enlargement and aneurysm repair. Additionally she is also skilled in minimally invasive lung cancer surgery focusing on complete lymph node excision. She also performs surgery for benign (non-cancer) lung disease and infection (pneumonia / empyema). She has more than fifteen years in cardiac and thoracic surgery and focuses on a patient centered approach. Each patient must be comfortable with their own treatment plan.

Dr. Butler is originally from Texas and is currently tracing her roots back to the Texas Republic. She went to undergraduate and medical school at the University of Texas and then moved to Tucson for general surgery training. Her cardiothoracic training was in Wisconsin and she practiced in the midwest for nine years before returning to Tucson in 2016.

Having been in a busy multispecialty practice she has now founded Tucson CT Surgery in order to spend more time with her patients and focus on overall health and welfare of her patient population. She has three children who constantly remind her the surgeries she performs are inherent to how we feel and take care of our loved ones.
